Bioenergy for the Region Cluster applied for National Key Cluster status

Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia submitted application within ministerial contest

The Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia based in Lodz, Poland, recently submitted an application for the status of a National Key Cluster within a contest held by the Polish Ministry of Economy. The 'Bioenergy for the Region' Cluster is a co-operation platform of companies, research institutions, local administration and business support institutions. Today, the cluster comprises 61 companies (47 micro, 7 small, 3 medium and 4 large), 6 research units, including 3 of parametric evaluation A, 5 business support institutions and 9 administrative authorities.

The main aim of the cluster is sustainable energy development in Central Poland. In the context of climate change the cluster promotes innovative solutions in renewable energy sources (RES) in local and regional dimensions.

Hydrothermal proecesses are on their way to the markets

Innovation Forum “Hydrothermal Processes” presents promising models

Hydrothermal processes (HTP) convert water rich biomass under pressure and temperature into solid, liquid and gaseous carbon carriers. These can be applied in various ways in the chemical industry, in the energy industry, as fertiliser or as raw material. Process developers, waste management enterprises as well as other users gathered at the Innovation Forum „Hydrothermal Processes” in order to get specific products ready to the markets.

© BSBEEP Black Sea Buildings Energy Efficiency Plan

On 6 May 2015, an informational visit for a group of representatives from local government, public institutions managers, construction companies and journalists from Cahul region to the international fair RoEnergy Bucharest "Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency" was organised within the scope of the project "Black Sea Buildings Energy Efficiency Plan - BSBEEP". The project is funded through the Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme 2007-2013, by the Municipality of Cahul, Moldova. The fair took place at Romexpo Bucharest, Romania.

On May 18 – 21, 2015 the AUA Acopian Center for the Environment organised a national study tour on energy efficiency, renewable energy and other eco solutions in buildings for a group composed of municipal workers, builders, academics, and NGO members from Syunik region of Armenia. The goal of the event was to educate and build momentum with current in-country successes.

Conference „Lodzkie of Energy” gathered international energy experts in the Lodz region

From 8th to 10th June 2015 the conference „Lodzkie of Energy” brought international experts in the field of energy and renewable energy sources together in order to discuss the future development of the energy sector in the Lodz region. During the 3-day-programme lectures and discussions were held on varied topics such as E-mobility and low carbon transport, building energy-saving and solutions for distributed energy, funding opportunities for ecological investments and social impacts of innovative energy production. Furthermore study visits and a trade fair were organised and gave the opportunity to establish new business ties.
