Delegation from Leipzig visits TREC-Danube partner in the Republic of Moldova and in Romania

Meetings in Cahul and in Cluj assess the current situation of renewable energies and build up new business ties

Within the scope of the TREC-Danube project a delegation from Leipzig travelled to the Republic of Moldova from 20th to 22nd July 2015 and, in the following, to Romania until 24th July 2015. The delegation comprised members and partners from within the Network for Energy and Environmental Technology (NEU e. V.), among them representatives of the Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum (German research center for bioenergy) and the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy.

DBFZ scientists publish research strategy for "smart" bioenergy provision

The book "Smart Bioenergy - Technologies and concepts for a more flexible bioenergy commission in Future Energy Systems" can now be obtained

The transition of the energy system towards a renewable resource base requires a rethinking in all energy sectors and also the further development of bioenergy provision to better complement wind and solar energy. The now published research strategy involving different DBFZ scientist is entitled "Smart Bioenergy - Technologies and concepts for a more flexible bioenergy commission in Future Energy Systems" provides the latest research findings and perspectives in the field of energy and integrated material biomass use.

Innovative Biomass Production – Challenges and Perspectives

6th Agronomic Symposium at the Munich Hans Eisenmann-Zentrum on 24th September 2015

On 24th September 2015 the 6th Agronomic Symposium at the Munich Hans Eisenmann-Zentrum makes the innovative production of biomass the subject of discussion. Lectures on plant cultivation, agricultural processes, biotechnological innovations in the processing of biomass, alternative sources of raw materials and innovative products give insight into the challenges and perspectives of biomass production today. Furthermore poster presentations inform on recent research projects in the field of biomass production. Prof. Dr. Daniela Thrän – professorship for bio-energy systems University of Leipzig, Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung (Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research), Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum (German Research Centre for Biomass) – is represented with a lecture on “Biomass – Principles and challenges for the raw material basis of a sustainable bio-economy”.

Biomass in the Visegrad Region

17th Cluster Forum “Bioenergy for the Region” on 23rd July 2015

On 23rd July 2015 the 17th Forum of Bioenergy for the Region Cluster will be held. The main theme this time will be biomass as an instigator of regional development. In particular, the forum will discuss the characteristics of the unique plant OXYTREE, which can offer new development prospects for poor quality soils and sub-urban areas. The second part of the meeting will be a workshop, aimed at the development of grant proposals for the Operational Programme Intelligent Development, financed within the European Regional Development Fund.
