TREC Danube Phase II starts with international workshop in Leipzig

Development and preparation of Horizon2020 applications in the centre of attention

From 28th to 30th November 2016 more than 45 participants from 10 countries gathered at Fraunhofer IMW in Leipzig in order to discuss and prepare common visions, objectives and consortia for the submission of Horizon2020 applications. The kick-off workshop officially marked the beginning of the 2nd stage of TREC Danube which will continue until August 2017.

Focus on carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycling in agro-ecosystems; EU Call within the scope of Horizon2020 published

With the Call "Closing loops at farm and regional levels to mitigate GHG emissions and environmental contamination - focus on carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus cycling in agro-ecosystems" (SFS-30-2017), the EU offers another promising starting point for TREC H2020 applications: Again, a “multi-actor-approach”, covered e. g. by cluster- and network organisations, is proposed in order to address the comprehensive topic. Proposals shall identify factors and mechanisms that govern C, N and P cycles and contribute to lower emissions through optimising and closing C, N and P loops.

Business models for modern rural economies

EU Call within the scope of Horizon2020 published

The EU Call "Business models for modern rural economies" (RUR-09-2017) serves as promising starting point for TREC H2020 applications: The topic description is relatively unspecific and covers numerous potential project approaches. However, some indicators seem to be encouraging for proposals with models for a sustainable bio-based economy within different developed sectors (countries). Additionally a “multi-actor-approach” is proposed to engage all relevant actors, which is perfectly covered by cluster- and network organisations.

EFFESUS - Energy Efficiency for EU Historic Districts' Sustainability

Research project successfully completed; main results and findings compiled in booklet and video

EFFESUS (Energy Efficiency for EU Historic Districts' Sustainability) is a four year European funded research project investigating the energy efficiency of European historic urban districts and developing technologies and systems for its improvement. Recently completed, its main results and findings are now compiled in a booklet and video.

TREC Danube is going into a new round

Phase II starts with an international workshop in Leipzig from 28th to 30th of November 2016

Following a successful first round of the internationalization project TREC Danube, members of the TREC network are now entering project stage II which particularly aims at the development of proposals within the scope of the “Horizon 2020” Framework Programme.
