European Commission high-level conference in Cluj-Napoca

Between the 13th and the 14th of June 2017, Cluj-Napoca will host the 5th edition of the European Commission’s high-level conference Open Innovation 2.0 2017. The previous editions of the conference have been held in Dublin, two times, in Espoo and Amsterdam. This year, the general theme of the conference is Open Innovation 2.0: The Platform for Digital Innovation. As cross-cutting themes, just to list a few, there are Industrial Commons, Societal Commons, Innovation Ecosystems as a Service and Digital Innovation Hubs. The quadruple helix involvement of all stakeholders in the innovation process is highlighted. During the event examples of operational and strategic good practices are being showcased pointing out the best possible positive impact on the industrial and societal renewal. This conference aims to stand out with an atypical and pragmatic approach while offering palpable solutions to the social and economic challenges.

Bioenergy for the Region Cluster on High-level EU Cluster Mission to the USA

TREC Member CBI Pro-Akademia visited Philadelphia, Washington and Boston

As a coordinator of the Bioenergy for the Region Cluster a delegation of CBI Pro-Akademia had been selected to attend the High-level EU Cluster Mission to the USA. During the 5-day-long trip, participants have visited Philadelphia, Washington and Boston. Together with the representatives of clusters from Germany, Sweden, France, Romania and Italy they have visited many American institutions, supporting the cooperation of science and economy and research institutes, working for enterprises.

Seminar on "New Trends, Innovations and the Latest Solutions in Thermal Analysis"

Seminar in Poznan related to Bioenergy Cluster for the Region

Bioenergy Cluster for the Region has become a partner of the III Seminar on "New Trends, Innovations and the Latest Solutions in Thermal Analysis", organised by the Faculty of Chemistry at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and HAAS, cluster member of Bionenergy for the Region Cluster (www.haas.com.pl). The seminar will take place on May 16, 2017 in Poznan, Poland, at the Faculty of Chemistry of Adam Mickiewicz University and will bring together people from scientific centers and industry during a series of lectures, poster sessions and workshops.

Organised by Leipzig's Network for Energy and Environmental Engineering (NEU) and the city's office for economic development, protagonists of Leipzig's energy cluster met on 9th May 2017 at the anual "Fireside Chat" in order to discuss experiences and project ideas in the markets of Vietnam, Japan and Switzerland.

TREC Network Partners Submit H2020 Proposal

Project proposal “Central and Eastern European Value Network for the Promotion of Rural Business in the BioEconomy” (PRoBBE )

Following the TREC Danube Phase II kick-off workshop from 28th to 30th November 2016 in Leipzig a proposal for the RUR-09-2017 “Business Models for Modern Rural Economies” was developed and submitted for the first stage evaluation in mid-February 2017.
